Think Back Thursday: Memorial Day/Patriotic

Think Back Thursday has a patriotic theme this week. And what is more patriotic than the Liberty Bell? I've had the privilege of seeing it at least three times. These pictures are from the last two visits.

Several years ago, I took the oldest two boys on a field trip with our homeschool group to the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. While there, we had enough time to pay a brief visit to the Liberty Bell.

We visited Philadelphia again this past October, and took Landon and Kennady to see the Liberty Bell. Only Kennady would consent to having her picture taken though.

Following are a few of the pictures from the Memorial Day parade in 2012, the first time Landon marched with the Civil Air Patrol. More pictures at: A Memorial Day Photojournal

And a couple of pictures from this year's Memorial Day parade. More pictures here: Memorial Day Parade Photojournal

Seen in Emmittsburg on July 4, 2012 (Emmittsburg is just south of Gettysburg)

Any patriotic theme I post needs a nod to my home country, Canada. We fly these flags in our backyard. Canada Day is on July 1st, and Kennady's birthday is at the beginning of July, so that first week of July is one full of celebration for us! Three great birthdays and lots of fireworks!

My favorites this week are your son in the parade, The flag overhead with the trees in the background, the flags on the old fashioned light pole in Emmittsburg, and the fireworks collage.

Thanks for linking up. Great photos. I love patriotic holidays.
