Virtual Refrigerator: Homeschool Weekly Photo Challenge - Art

Welcome to another edition of the Virtual Refrigerator! This weekly blog hop was started by Jennifer at A Glimpse of Our Life, and is now also co-hosted by Angels of HeartHomeschool Coffee Break, and Every Bed of Roses. We all cordially invite you to add your link sharing the art that's on your Virtual Refrigerator and then hop over to the other blogs and admire what's on their Fridges!

This week I am doing a summary of what Art class is usually like at our house, so I can also link up to the Homeschool Weekly Photo Challenge at The Canadian Homeschooler.

Kennady did get back to doing a little bit of art this week after taking a long vacation break. She did this drawing, which she was disappointed with, but I don't know why.

She is also supposed to be working on scratch art, but I can't find BLANK foil pages. Only pre-printed ones. I bought a couple of the kits, thinking that the "practice piece" would be big enough. It is not. It is approximately the size of two postage stamps. So until we decide whether to do the assignment on regular paper or continue the hunt for foil pages, she worked on the projects.

So that was this particular week. But what could be considered "typical" for Art in our homeschool? I try to find art projects that relate to what we're studying in History, like some of these past projects:

See: Virtual Refrigerator: Aged Map Art for more.

See: Virtual Refrigerator: Art from All Over Africa for more.

See: Virtual Refrigerator: Aboriginal Dot Painting for more.

See Virtual Refrigerator: Castles and Coats of Arms for more.

So far this year, I've had them do a little sketching as we study South America.

This year, Kennady is my only student taking an art class. She is working through ARTistic Pursuits books for Middle School ages. Here are a couple of her drawings from this year thus far:

Add a link to share your child's art or your arts and crafts how-to posts, and visit the other blogs and admire what's on their Virtual Refrigerators!

Thanks to Heather at Only Passionate Curiosity, you can grab the image below and help us share about the linky.
And, you can see other weekly photos shared at The Canadian Homeschooler Weekly Photo Challenge - Art and share your own pictures.

OH I enjoyed this thoroughly. Thank you. I especially liked the dot painting. I did try a pointillism Tadeo Turtle one time on Creative Saturdays. There is a link there today and I would love you to enter this post.
Blessings,
