Chats on the Farmhouse Porch #141

Everyday Ruralty
Yay me! This week I didn't forget the weekly Chats on the Farmhouse Porch hosted by Everyday Ruralty

This week's questions:

  1. What is your favorite berry?
  2. If you had the choice of a picnic or a sit-down dinner, which would you choose?
  3. How is your handwriting? Fancy, plain, legible, doctor-like?
  4. Do you prefer a desktop computer, laptop, or tablet?
  5. Tell me something interesting, please.

Some of these will be easier to answer than others!
  1. Saskatoons! (aka juneberries, aka serviceberries) What?! You haven't heard of them? I think the love of saskatoons is a Canadian prairies type thing, but I don't know for sure. I just know that it was pretty common for us to have saskatoon jam or jelly when I was growing up and it was a treat. Or saskatoon syrup for pancakes and waffles - yum! One of the ice cream shops near where I worked had a saskatoon sherbet and I ordered it Every.Time.
  2.  Might depend who I'm dining with, because I like both. :-)
  3. I like my handwriting and think it looks pretty. My "note-taking" handwriting that I use to jot things down quickly (sermon notes, calendar items, shopping lists, etc) is not as precise but I still think it's quite legible and attractive; however, my kids make fun of it and *purposely* mis-read it.
  4. I guess I prefer a desktop since we don't have a laptop right now.
  5. There were THREE goldfinches right in front of my window just now. And of course they flew away just as I was about to snap a picture. I'll be ready for them when they come back though. ;-)

Never heard of saskatoons (juneberries or serviceberries). :)
It is becoming "old school" to actually write anything anymore. In the digital age we live in most people only type. And spelling is out the door! My kids always try to get out of learning to spell a word correctly because of spell check. I don't care for that mindset...
Well, it was nice getting to know you a little! Have a great day!

I do actually know what Saskatoon berries are! As a matter of fact, we have a bush right outside our bedroom window! Around here we call them Service Berries.

Some days I wish we could actually do our blog posts by writing them out long hand instead of typing. I think there is so much to be learned about a person by their handwriting...especially personality types.

Thanks again for stopping by. I clicked to "follow" you last week, but neglected to "bookmark" your site so I could come back to visit more often. It is now bookmarked! Am enjoying getting to know a little more about you!

Wow, never heard of saskatoons, always thought it's the name of a city. Good to know there are a few desktop lovers out there :)

Birds do not wait long enough for me to take pictures of them.
I hope you will be able to capture the goldfinches in your photos.

(I have started following you on Google +.)
