Homeschool Weekly - It's December Already! Edition

In our homeschool... we had a fairly decent week, although we're still busy with all kinds of activities related to the season and unrelated to school! Landon has been working again, so we are calling it good if he can keep up with his history course for now. Kennady did some catch-up work in Science and Geography this week, but because I was busy I haven't checked on exactly what's been done. So my guess is that she hasn't done any math... *ahem* She did some artwork on her own, and was a huge help to me in preparing craft materials for the Christmas Craft Breakfast this morning. And, since she also made some crafts at the event,  I count that as art as well.
In other news... the choir I sing with had our concerts on Sunday and Monday and they went very well. We perform at the Big Band Merry Christmas concert this weekend, and have one more performance next weekend, and then I am finished with that until January. Kennady's choir will be caroling downtown this weekend, and their big winter concert is next Sunday, and then she will have a break until January.

We worked on getting some Christmas decorating done, but I left most of it to finish this weekend. I should actually be finishing decorating the tree right now. All we've got is lights so far.

And I need to get some baking done! Our church is doing our annual "Carols and Cocoa" on Sunday evening and I need to take a few dozen cookies.

Oh! And our phone line works again!! Actually, I'm not too sure how I feel about that. I love that we can call our parents again, but of course the unwanted sales calls can bother me as well.

Things that made me smile... the Christmas Craft Breakfast. For many of us, it's one of our favorite schooldays of the year.

I recommend... visiting Adena on her blog, AdenaF, over the next couple of weeks, as she is hosting a  "Learning Through the 50 States" link-up, with homeschool bloggers sharing a little insider info about the state they live in. I'll be linking up with a post about Maryland next week.

I finished Love Unexpected by Jody Hedlund, but haven't written about it yet. You can keep up with everything I'm reading on my book blog, Just A Second.

A parting shot...  one of Kennady's craft breakfast projects, a lighted glass block.
