Homeschool Weekly: Sunday Evening Edition

This post may contain affiliate links - using affiliate links from Homeschool Coffee Break helps fuel this blog and our homeschool - thank you!
My day completely got away from me yesterday and then I had an extra long nap this afternoon, so I am very late posting my weekly update!

In our homeschool... we did our best to get back into a hard-working school routine, with me making sure the grading was up-to-date and getting new assignment lists printed out so both kids knew what they were supposed to be doing. Kennady was able to jump right back into her Literature and Math, but getting back up to speed in Geography and Science will take another week. Landon has done a great job of staying current with his World History. He was able to pick up where he left off with Algebra without too much trouble, and I think he is back to work in his technical drawing course now. We've definitely neglected his Grammar/Composition and Nutrition courses over the past month or so, and will have to fit that in this coming week. The challenge will be getting it all done when he is back to working two days a week.

Music lessons, choir, gym class, and Civil Air Patrol were all back in session this past week as well, so winter vacation is definitely over! (Until the next snow day!)

In other news... I wound up cancelling my homeschool moms night out on Monday because of iffy weather. We probably could still have had it, but I wouldn't have wanted to drive back home in the forecasted freezing rain, and a few of the "regulars" had decided they weren't braving the roads. So I am hoping to do that this week instead.

I mentioned that gym and music and CAP were back at it this week, so my Tuesday was once again spent running around.

Kennady and I had a lovely time at a Women's Theme Night at church this week. We had a baked potato bar with so much wonderful food, and then played bunco. Do you know I've never played before? Talk about being late to that party! LOL

Landon had a couple of friends over on the weekend, in a late birthday celebration.

And the hubster and I are still waiting it out a bit longer before buying a new vehicle, and hoping that the van won't force our hand!

Things that made me smile... getting things checked off the to-do list as we cleaned the kitchen, especially when I got help from the rest of the family.

34 Weeks of Clean...

I'm participating in a weekly challenge and link-up at Family, Faith, and Fridays. Our assignment this past week was to clean our pantry cupboards. Here are my "before" and "after" pictures:

It's probably hard to tell exactly what changed or improved, and because I had a bunch to share on this one, it got its own post. So if you're curious about my Week 2, go here: 34 Weeks of Clean - Week 2.

For Week 3, we turn our attention to our kitchen cabinets and drawers! For the details of the assignment, go to Family, Faith, and Fridays. Join in if you haven't already, and check back next week for our progress!

I recommend...  keeping up with theVirtual Curriculum Fair posts this month. Week One posts were about "Playing With Words"  and Week Two was about "Discovering Patterns". Visit Susan at Homeschooling Hearts and Minds for links to all of those posts. We are just starting Week Three with the theme "Exploring Our World". Visit our co-hosts Susan at Homeschooling Hearts and Minds  and Stacie at Super Mommy to the Rescue for the list of this week's participating bloggers and a link-up to add your own posts. (I will have to add my post to the link-up this week because I missed my deadline!)
