The Virtual Refrigerator is an art post link-up hosted by Every Bed of Roses, Homeschool Coffee Break, Raventhreads, and This Day Has Great Potential #VirtualFridge #art

Welcome to another edition of the Virtual Refrigerator! This weekly art link-up is co-hosted by Homeschool Coffee Break, Every Bed of Roses, Raventhreadsand This Day Has Great Potential. We all cordially invite you to add your link sharing the art that's on your Virtual Refrigerator and then hop over to the other blogs and admire what's on their Fridges!

If you're not familiar with the Virtual Refrigerator, it's a fun blog link-up that we've had going on for a couple of years now to showcase some of the art projects our kids have been doing in our homeschools. Y'know how so many of us like to stick the latest masterpiece from our kid to our refrigerator door? Because that is the reason fridge magnets were invented, after all! Well, the fridge can get crowded and there are always those art projects that don't fit nicely on the fridge, and only the folks that actually walk into our kitchen can see them; so the Virtual Fridge was born. We created a virtual refrigerator on our blogs that could display the artwork, and use the link-up tool as our virtual fridge magnets, and we love to admire all the creative genius that's shared. And it's not just for our kids' artwork - moms share some of their artistic talents on the Fridge as well.

What's displayed on my Refrigerator? Often it's marker doodles or sketches that my artsy daughter creates in her free time; sometimes it's a project or drawing inspired by what we're studying in History, Geography, or Science; and sometimes it's special projects like these Glass Stars.

Right now Kennady isn't doing an art curriculum, but we have done so in the past and probably will again. We had a great time doing this Artist Study August Series several months ago and I'd love to do something like this for the Virtual Refrigerator again. We featured:

 M.C. Escher

Gustav Klimt (and this wound up being one of my all-time favorite projects!)

Piet Mondrian (Mondrian was Kennady's favorite artist at the time, and perhaps he still is. I haven't asked her recently if she has a new favorite.)

I'm one of four co-hostesses for the Virtual Fridge. My partners in this endeavor are:

Chareen from Every Bed of Roses, who recently managed to stick her son's Wooden Pen Holder to the Virtual Fridge. This is why virtual magnets are awesome. You can put a great project like this on display and still be able to use it!

Rebecca from Raventhreads. She shares adorable projects from her younger kids, like these Paper Plate Lions.

Lynn from This Day Has Great Potential has been quiet lately, but she shares a variety of artwork. Like me, she has two grads and two high schoolers.

We do our best to visit all the art posts linked up, and occasionally one of us will feature something that really caught our eye. This week I'm featuring a post from Lori from At Home: Where Life Happens. She shared about their field trip to an art museum and the drawings inspired by the art they learned about.

I'm also featuring Ayan from Teacher Mom Plus 3 and her post about their first time making sun prints, which is something we have yet to try. Doesn't it look like fun?

My oldest asked for more art, so I need to start being more intentional with it, and sharing it more!
