What We Love About Homeschooling

What We Love About Homeschooling on Homeschool Coffee Break @ kympossibleblog.blogspot.com

It's time for another Homeschool Review Crew round-up, and the subject is "The Things We Love about Home Schooling". Well, there are a LOT of things to love about home education, and I've written about some of our favorite things several times in the past. So this time, because this was yet another of those crazy weeks when my plans kept getting changed and my time always seemed to be too short, I just came up with a quick acrostic to share a few things we love about homeschooling.

Homey atmosphere - schoolwork can be done in our pj's, cuddled in a comfy chair.
Our values - Our beliefs and convictions are the foundation of our education.
Memories - important milestones like learning to read and "getting" math.
Experiences - many new experiences that we've enjoyed together.
Support - the people we've met in homeschool communities are wonderful!
Choices - so many wonderful curriculum to choose from, and the choice is OURS!
Honoring God - in how we raise our kids and how we educate them.
Options - what to study, when to work on it, how to earn credits . . .
Open calendar - taking vacations or field trips or whatever when it suits us.
Learning together - I love to learn alongside my kids!
Individualized - tailoring each student's course of study to their needs and goals.
No buses, no schoolbell, no bullying, no permission slips, no packing lunches . . .
Good relationships - within the family, and oh, so many good friends!

The Blessing of Friendships on Homeschool Coffee Break @ kympossibleblog.blogspot.com

I shared about The Blessing of Friendships in a previous round-up, and how the many friends that I and my kids have made in our homeschool circles have been one of the greatest blessings of homeschooling we've experienced. And in some ways, a blessing that was unexpected! Something else to love about homeschooling!

Why I'm Thankful We Homeschool on Homeschool Coffee Break @ kympossibleblog.blogspot.com

A few years ago, I listed a bunch of reasons Why I'm Thankful We Homeschool, and that post is full of things we love about homeschooling.

What Homeschooler Can Do Just Because @ kympossibleblog.blogspot.com

Some of the things we love about homeschooling are things we have the freedom to do because we're not tied to the routines of a brick and mortar school. I talked about a lot of those things in What Homeschoolers Can Do Just Because We're Homeschoolers. (You'll also find that post included in today's round-up.)

And finally, a post I wrote way back in 2012, which is one of my favorites. I reflected on how homeschooling was indeed hard work, as people often commented, but it was so Worth It! (This one is also included in today's round-up.) The rewards and benefits of homeschooling struck me then as being worth all the effort and then some, and that's definitely something to love about homeschooling.

W is for Worth It! @ kympossibleblog.blogspot.com
