Welcome to Homeschool Highlights!
This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.

Grab a cup of coffee and let's get started!

Homeschool Highlights - Holy Week Edition, Week 30 on Homeschool Coffee Break @ kympossibleblog.blogspot.com

This week I'm going to keep the news rather short as it is Good Friday. For many, including me and my family, it is a regular work day, but we also want to be mindful of the fact that we are remembering Christ's death on the cross. And yes, it's Friday -- but Sunday is coming!

Homeschool news  . . .  this has been a regular school week for us, but Kennady appreciated a reprieve from co-op homework since we didn't have classes last week. I was thankful that she may have done just a tiny bit of extra work on Algebra because of it. I was planning to get a good look at how much is left to do in this final quarter of the school year, but haven't had a chance to get an update done yet.

Other news . . . Last weekend Kennady and I went with friends to an Easter presentation at one of the local churches. We have friends that are involved in this production that runs for a couple weeks before Easter every year, but have never managed to go. So very glad we did it this year, as it was just excellent and very moving. Kennady enjoyed it so much she wanted to go back, so she will be tagging along with Landon when he goes tonight. Not only that, but she is planning to audition and hopefully be a part of the play herself next year!

Hubby played in a hockey tournament on the weekend, and came home on Sunday afternoon with good news and bad news - his team won the championship, but he sustained a rib injury during the final game. After some thought and a lot of discomfort all afternoon, he finally decided to let me take him to Urgent Care to get it checked out. Thankfully nothing broken, so he should be okay in a couple weeks at most.

Wednesday evening our church held our annual Easter Eggstravaganza, which was another success. The whole family except me attended and helped out, but I had other plans - I had a grad planning meeting to help with. Those of us at the planning meeting had a good time as well, because there weren't a lot of decisions to be made, just updating and double-checking. And the graduating students chose the music they wanted and we practiced that until everyone was comfortable. Arguably my favorite part (most years anyway) of planning for the ceremony!

Last night was worship team practice for me and Kennady. We're both in the combined worship band for Sunday's service.

What I Loved This Week . . . doing some final planning for the grad ceremony, and spending some time singing and playing worship music with the grads. And then the very next night getting to sing and play with our combined worship band as we prepare for the Easter morning service. I lost my voice last week for a day or two, and after Thursday evening's practice this week it was getting a little scratchy again, but the truth is I don't remember ever getting tired of singing or playing music with talented and fun people.

On my blogs last week . . .

And on my book blog, Just A Second:

Teaser Tuesday/First Chapter First Paragraph - The Innkeeper's Daughter
What I'm Reading - March 26, 2018
Recent Reads - Keturah
Scripture and a Snapshot - Palm Sunday

Just A Second is where I share book reviews and other book-related things, and update on what's on my bookshelf. This week I finished and reviewed Keturah (The Sugar Baron's Daughters) by Lisa T. Bergren, and I've been reading:

The Innkeeper's Daughter by Michelle Griep
As Death Draws Near (A Lady Darby Mystery) by Anna Lee Huber
The Weaver's Daughter: A Regency Romance Novel by Sarah E. Ladd

A parting shot . . .  On foggy morning this week, it looked rather like a tundra across the road from our house!

Congrats to your Hubby and his team on their win. Glad to hear that he is ok. The play you went to see sounds interesting. Good luck to your daughter when she additions. The grad planning sounds like it was fun. I will have the chance to do that in three years. Those three years will come fast. I love the picture of your foggy frozen tundra. Happy Easter.

I hope you had a lovely Easter. We looked like the frozen tundra today on Easter, complete with thunder snow. In Missouri. In April.
