Goal Planning Monday: October 29, 2012

Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. ~Psalm 90:12~

My mom and dad are here visiting so I will be limiting my computer time, and my to-do list!  During this first week...
  1. Enjoy spending time with Mom and Dad.  Done!
  2. Do the basics with school so we don't get behind.  Done!
  3. Keep the house tidy.  Done, sort of.
  4. Be grateful for Mom's help in the kitchen and with the sewing.  Done!
The second week of their visit will be the same, with one important difference - we are preparing for the possibility that we'll be without power for part of the time courtesy of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Sandy.  Usually I don't worry too much about storm effects where we are, and we've rarely been without electricity for more than a day at a time, but this time it's likely that if our power goes out we'll have to wait longer than usual for it to be restored.
  1. Double check emergency supplies to make sure we have what we need.  I might need to get more batteries, and we're putting aside additional water supplies today.  Past experience tells me we're unlikely to need it, but it's better to be prepared!
  2. Enjoy spending time with Mom and Dad. Even if it's playing card games by lamplight.  LOL
  3. Do the basics with school so we don't get behind.
  4. Keep the house tidy.
  5. Be grateful for Mom's help in the kitchen and with the sewing.
  6. Help the kids figure out costumes IF we have our Trunk or Treat activity.
  7. This week's errands and to-do list:  choir and church activities are likely to be cancelled.  After today, I don't think we'll have many places we'll need to go until Friday when my parents are planning to catch the train home.

I too have few goals because we are right in Sandy's path in northern Delaware. I didn't get much done last week because my daughters got home from a 3 week trip to Texas and then after spending time with them we had to start prepping for the hurricane. Enjoy your parents visit, stay safe, God Bless.
