Kennady was back to working with chalk pastels this week and did this piece. I asked her if it was the Hanging Tree (mentioned in the song from The Hunger Games) and she said it wasn't, so I was puzzled as to why she would draw a noose! She said she'd seen a similar idea on Pinterest awhile ago, but couldn't find it again. I do like the contrast of vibrant sunset colors and the darkness of the tree.

And on a lighter note, she also did this hot air balloon. She was not happy with how the basket of the balloon turned out, so she filled it all in. Which I think makes it look like a light bulb! Haha! I suggested she could try the basket again, and the balloon would just be taller, but she objected because it would be too tall and throw off the proportions. Oh. Okay then.
