This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.
Grab a cup of coffee and let's get started!
This has been another of *those* weeks, so my Homeschool Highlights post is a little late in coming, and might be a bit shorter than usual. I'm often too wordy, so maybe that's not a bad thing!

Homeschool news . . . Kennady knocked off a lot of History this week, along with a fair amount of Grammar and Composition. And some art!
A preview for the next Virtual Fridge! This is a sample project for Creating A Masterpiece. Mountain Scene by KAT, January 26, 2017 |
As for me, I've been doing my best to get the grading completed so I can submit Kennady's first semester grades.
Other news . . . Once again, the usual craziness of our weeks got even crazier, thanks to an accident. This time it was Landon who managed to get into an accident, and so we're right back in a rental car while we wait to see if that car will be totaled. I sure hope we won't have any reason to call our auto insurance again for a long time after this!
Other tidbits about the week include my homeschool moms encouragement group meeting at the beginning of the week, and Spencer having his first experience of serving on a jury. At least that's where he is today. He had to be available all week, but didn't get called until this morning.
Landon is with Civil Air Patrol touring the Goddard Space Center today. (I bet I didn't get the name exactly right, but you know what I mean.) I'm hoping he is taking some pictures where it's allowed, and maybe he'll even let me share some.

I'm still trying to remember to check in at 34 Weeks of Clean to keep me on track to do some housecleaning. We gave our pantry cupboards a quick clean this week. I didn't have much time to work on that project, but the good news is that I've done a good job keeping those cupboards tidy and organized since the first time I did the 34 Weeks challenge! Also, since Spencer was at home this week, I got him to help out. Here's a couple of our cupboards after they got a quick clean.
Visit Michele at Family, Faith and Fridays for the details of the challenge and for each week's assignment. This week we've continued to work in our kitchens, cleaning out the cabinets and drawers.
What's Important . . . once again, the important thing was that Landon wasn't hurt, even though the car got banged up really badly.
I recommend . . . visiting the Homeschool Review Crew blog today, as Crew members have shared a whole list of things the LOVE about homeschooling. Here's the link: The Things We Love About Home Schooling

Just A Second is where I share book reviews and other book-related things, and update on what's on my bookshelf. This week I finished and reviewed The Mark of the King by Jocelyn Green and A Curious Beginning (A Veronica Speedwell Mystery) by Deanna Raybourn. I've started reading:
A Note Yet Unsung (A Belmont Mansion Novel) by Tamera Alexander
Here, There Be Dragons (Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica) by James A. Owen
A Perilous Undertaking (A Veronica Speedwell Mystery) by Deanna Raybourn

A parting shot . . . Couldn't resist sharing this photo Harrison sent me of himself and Veronica. She seems to have already perfected that "Dad. You're so embarrassing. I'm done." expression!

Accidents are not fun, glad nobody was hurt!
Oh no! Not another car accident. Hope it's resolved quickly. Your granddaughter is adorable!
The mountain scene looks great! I love your coffee mug this week! I hope things get better with the vehicle situations soon.
love the picture of the baby! And your cup made me laugh. :) Did Landon get pictures.
Kennedy did a beautiful job on her artwork! The look on Veronica's face is priceless!
I'm sorry to hear about the accident. The baby - oh so adorable :) I need a few cups of coffee to keep up with life. I feel so far behind and life just keeps going. .... slowing is hard work!
Love the grand baby picture! And I hope the aftermath of the accident is resolving smoothly.
