Welcome to Homeschool Highlights!
This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.

Grab a cup of coffee and let's get started!

I actually drank tea a few times this week. It seemed the better choice when I wasn't feeling well.

Homeschool news  . . . We tried very hard to put some new practices in place that would help us get on track and hopefully stay motivated to get things done. So yes, things are getting better with Algebra and Kennady is still working well on History and English. We do still need to get Science rolling again, and would have done it already this week, except for illness and a few changes of plans.

Other news . . . We had a very fun weekend, including attending a hockey game in Hershey with a group of friends. A family from church, a couple friends from my husband's work, and a group of our kids' friends.

On Monday, I wasn't home to supervise school in the afternoon, since I went with my hubby for a medical procedure. I had a grad committee meeting in the evening as well so it was a full day, and by the time I got home from the meeting, I could tell I was coming down with a cold.

Tuesday was the usual busy-ness, plus a co-op planning meeting while Kennady was at gym. All while feeling considerably less than 100%.

Wednesday morning Kennady and I attended a funeral service at church and then ran some errands. I was hopeful that I was on the mend, but by the end of the day, I changed my mind on that. Ugh. And is there nothing I can skip? There really isn't. We had worship team practice, so I just powered through and hoped for the best. Yesterday and today I went to work - not sick enough to stay home, just sick enough to feel cruddy. And since I titled this "Under the Weather" - it seems that winter is back! It's snowing again!

I'm even behind on my blogging, so look for my weekly Blogging Through the Alphabet post tomorrow!

What's Working . . . Fine Arts is working amazingly well! Kennady is doing great with her music studies, and lately she's been doing some beautiful artwork as well with Creating A Masterpiece. And that has inspired her to do some other artwork too, so it looks like she will be earning at least another half credit in art for this school year!

On my blogs last week . . .

And on my book blog, Just A Second:
Just A Second is where I share book reviews and other book-related things, and update on what's on my bookshelf. This week I finished and reviewed Baseball Faith: 52 MLB Stars Reflect on Their Faith by Rob Maadi and Here, There Be Dragons (Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica) by James A. Owen, and I've been reading:

Shepherd, Potter, Spy and the Star Namer by Peggy Miracle Consolver
To the Farthest Shores by Elizabeth Camden

A parting shot . . .  A look back at the snow a year ago. We haven't got this much yet, but maybe by the end of the day it will look similar.
