Welcome to Homeschool Highlights!
This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.

Grab a cup of coffee and let's get started!

This NASCAR theme Coke mug seemed appropriate, given how much we've been on the go lately!

Homeschool news  . . . With Drivers Ed over, we thought we've have more time at home and a chance to finish up some of the schoolwork we still have. But of course it wasn't that easy - there were still way too many things to fit in. So we focused on just the Shakespeare Literature study we've been working on. And I would have liked to get further with that too, but it is what it is. We'll finish that unit when we get back from vacation and also the Math and Science.

Oh, and by the way, Kennady got a 98% on her final test at Drivers Ed. Now we just need to find time to start her behind the wheel.

Other news . . . Our Father's Day weekend was pretty laid back, with a grad party on Saturday and then a relax day on Sunday. In fact the kids weren't even home most of the day, as Spencer worked, and Landon and Kennady went to the lake with friends.

The rest of this week has been busy, but I'm not sure I could even say what we've been busy with! On Tuesday evening Kennady's chorus had their final rehearsal before the trip, and the chaperones (yes, I'm a chaperone - it's still weird to me to be responsible for other people's kids!) got all the final instructions available. On Wednesday afternoon we had another open house for our upcoming high school co-op classes - but the time frame probably wasn't best, being the middle of the day. We'll probably have one more open house during the summer.

Today, by the time you read this, we'll be on our chorus trip and hopefully enjoying a new adventure and not stuck in an airport or something like that! So forgive me for having what seems like a rather brief highlights post this week!

Just A Second is where I share book reviews and other book-related things, and update on what's on my bookshelf. This week I'll be reviewing Wings of the Wind (Out From Egypt) by Connilyn Cossette, and I've been reading:

The Black Moth by Georgette Heyer

A parting shot . . .
