This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.
Homeschool news . . . I have no clue what got done this week! A little bit of everything, but nothing stands out as a huge accomplishment. I guess these kinds of weeks are good because we just plug away and do what needs to be done. Slow and steady, right?!
This is the last week for chorus for Kennady. The concert is on Sunday, and next week will just be more or less an end of year meeting. And she decided to not do an internship again next year. She'd be changing the age group of kids she would work with, which she wasn't crazy about, and she felt that the demand on her time would be too much for her senior year.

Other news . . . on Saturday, we finally got our new bed! My back is very happy now. I got Landon and his buddy to drive down to IKEA in the friend's pickup truck so we could pick up the bed and mattress ourselves. Of course I paid them the equivalent of what I would have paid for IKEA to deliver! So we've been putting our house back in order quite literally - since our 'bedroom' had temporarily moved to the living room. And we have family coming for a visit in a couple of weeks so we need to get things sorted and ready for houseguests.
Other than that, the week has been relatively uneventful.
Except that THIS happened on Monday morning:
I clipped a deer while driving Landon to work. Ugh. Why are deer bums so solid anyway? I hit the brakes as soon as I saw the deer so I wasn't going more than 30mph tops, and the deer just kept jogging like nothing happened. But my car is at the body shop for a whole week more because half the bumper and the headlamp housing are destroyed.

Funny, Flop, or Fail of the Week . . . so besides the fail I mentioned above - thinking I'd submitted my topic info for the Blog Hop hub post but I really hadn't - I goofed up last week at co-op too. Except I didn't discover my goof until Monday. When I graded all the essays for my writing class and handed everything back to the students, I'd forgotten to keep a copy or even a record of the grades I gave them on their essays! Oops. That will make it rather difficult for me to figure their semester averages. I got the info for most of the students this week, after admitting my screw-up, but it was kind of embarrassing.
I'm sharing these Fails in the weekly link-up called Friday Funnies, Flops, & Fails co-hosted by Doodlemom's Homeschooling Life and Hopkins Homeschool.

Oh no! Not more car trouble. Those darn deer just come out of nowhere.
Car problems again?! I'm so sorry! Hooray for a new mattress though.
It's a pretty kitty, at least. I hope your car returns sooner than expected and in great shape.
