A Memorial Day Photojournal

Landon is part of the Civil Air Patrol.  On Monday he joined some other members of the local squadron and marched in the Memorial Day Parade.

One of the most poignant displays was this one:

Here comes the Civil Air Patrol!

They stopped right in front of us - lucky! - and it was time for a water break.  LOL

And off they go again...

The military police units were very popular!

I wonder if this dear nurse walked in those heels the whole parade route...

She was with the M*A*S*H 4077 unit!

Landon really didn't want to join CAP at first, but I think he enjoys it more than he will admit to us.  He is learning discipline, respect, service, and leadership; and whether or not he continues in the Air Force, I hope that he will never forget to honor the memories of those who lost their lives in service to their country; and that he will always respect and show appreciation for the veterans and those who serve now.  It was wonderful to see the tribute paid to veterans during this parade, especially by the young people.  I hope we can honor the sacrifices of the armed forces and their families, past and present, every day.

Thank you to all those who serve.
