Goal Planning Monday: January 28, 2013

Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. ~Psalm 90:12~

I guess it was time to have a not-so-good week.  I could mark the three most pressing things on my list as "Done" but the other things were left undone or with only a tiny bit of progress.
  1. Clean out kitchen cupboards and drawers. Not done.  I worked on it a little bit, but definitely got behind this week.
  2. Co-op lesson plans. Done.
  3. Schoolwork and grading. Done!
  4. Baking and meal planning. Progress. I did okay with the meal planning, I suppose, but really didn't bake.  I didn't bake bread at all, despite my best intentions, and the only sweets I baked were for snack at youth on Wednesday night so there was very little left for the family to enjoy.
  5. Blog goals... progress.  The end of the week was busy, and with co-op every Thursday for the next couple months, I guess I will have to plan ahead a lot better if I want things to post on Thursdays and Fridays!  I missed Think Back Thursday completely, although I might still post one late.  I started working on drafts for some of the things I've got coming up.
  6. Personal study and reading. Done! Kept up with The One-Year Bible, did quite a bit of personal reading (finished two books!), and even reviewed and read another chapter in my tax prep course.
  7. Move furniture and stuff in the basement. Not done.  I honestly think this left my head after I put it on the list last Monday! I really didn't give it another thought until my hubby asked me on Friday if I'd done it yet! LOL
  8. This week's errands and to-do list: complete.
Maybe this week will be better.
  1. Continue cleaning and organizing the kitchen. Finish cleaning out the cupboards and drawers, since there were some of those tasks from the previous weeks that I hadn't finished, and move on to this week's missions on the 52-week challenge.
  2. Co-op lessons and schoolwork. Need to get the next couple of co-op lessons planned out, and keep up-to-date with our schoolwork and grading at home.
  3. Baking and meal planning. I neglected baking last week and want to make up for it this week! Also trying to see if I can get out of the month without buying much other than milk at the grocery.
  4. Blog goals... time to find a blogging rhythm that works with my new weekly schedule, and I think working ahead on drafts more will help too.  I have at least four things I need to do this week.
  5. Personal study and reading.  Keep up the good work with Bible reading, and build on the progress I made with the tax course so I can get that finished.
  6. Move furniture and stuff in the basement. I'd better write this down on my kitchen calendar so I don't forget again! LOL  Also, I talked to my Mom a couple days ago and they are planning a visit here in spring, so that gives me a little extra push to get it done!
  7. This week's errands and to-do list includes: I get to start the week by taking the van to the body shop - that's today.  During the rest of the week, it's the usual... choir, church activities, co-op, groceries, and library.

So a lot of these things are on my list of things to do too. And it is so fun to mark them "Done" as you complete them! And I might try something like this...putting lists of things on my blog tends to make me more accountable. :-)

Have a blessed week!

It really does help with accountability. I hate having to admit on my blog that I blew off a bunch of the things I planned to get done! o.O

I'm not sure I'd call that much progress a "not-so-good week." I do understand the feeling on wanting to get more done, though. I'm proud of you for getting the most important things done and making progress on some others. I hope this week is more productive!

I agree with Christi, I think it was a good week. 4 things done, 2 made progress, and only 2 not done. I think that is a good week. I do also understand wanting to get more done. I have to write my goals on paper and check the paper daily if I want to get more done and NOT foret things. I am sooo very forgetful. I need to be able to see and check off my goals daily.

Thanks for posting Think Back Thursday and late is fine. I have been late many times getting my post up... I am striving to work ahead as well. I had this week's posts up so early that I posted the reminder post a day ahead and had to revert it to draft and schedule it for the right day. LOL I have all my photos for 3 weeks of Feb. Think Back Thursdays ready to go... I just have to work on the posts.

Cleaning... I have a lot of that I should be doing but have not been able to get myself to do it. Having visitors coming gives you something to work for.

Meal planning we are doing better on. My daughters and I each planned 2 meals for the week and the 3 guys agreed to cook and clean up on Sundays to give us a day off... we will see how well it works.

Keeping up with Bible Reading and School is a weekly goal I have. I am doing better with ordering stuff for my son for school. Acutally, I went to the library with my hubby and found some books for Science that will keep my son busy a couple weeks, I hope.

God bless and have a great rest of your week and a wonderful weekend.
