Homeschool Mother's Journal: Olympic Break Edition

Seriously. Why fight it? We are completely distracted by the Olympics and want to watch whenever possible. And the kids both spent the early part of the week sick to some extent. So despite my misgivings at having yet another too-relaxed week in our homeschool, I gave in to circumstances and just issued reminders that the lost time would need to be made up somewhere. Before the end of the school year, ideally.

In our homeschool... Landon didn't do much of anything this week, because he really was in rather rough shape with a cold or flu the first part of the week. He even missed gym class this week! He did work on math, and both kids worked on languages. Kennady worked on art and music.
In other news... some jobs did get done around the house, most notably the new faucet in the half bath.
Other than that, we watched Olympics most evenings, and often during the day. We've just finished watching the USA vs Canada men's hockey game, actually, and I'm relieved and excited that Canada won and is going on to the gold medal game on Sunday!

One of my favorite things this week... watching the Olympics with my kids. Kennady and I had a great time watching figure skating, and today I truly enjoyed watching the hockey game with Spencer and Landon.

I recommend... visiting the Schoolhouse Review Crew blog for this past week's Virtual Field Trips Round-up. Members of the Crew shared their ideas for taking field trips using the internet.
