A Deep Creek Christmas PhotoJournal

We spent part of last week at a cabin in the Deep Creek area of Maryland. A chilly but relaxing vacation just before Christmas! We visited the area a couple of years ago as well, and I shared pictures of our adventures in A Deep Creek PhotoJournal and A Swallow Falls PhotoJournal.

On the drive out, we happened to see a plane being transported, which was pretty interesting:

There are lovely views along the way as well, even if the sky was rather gloomy.

One day we visited Swallow Falls State Park, although the cold weather kept us from walking the entire trail.

I took pictures of the kids taking selfies.

Which they didn't much appreciate, but even less so when Dad tried to get in the pictures! Ha ha!!

Just to give an idea of the beautiful cabin we stayed in...

On another day we visited Deep Creek State Park.

As we had done on our previous visit to Deep Creek, we went to the aviary when the raptors were being fed so we could talk with the naturalist. This is a Barred Owl that is missing one eye.

Inside the nature center, Landon and my dad posed with one of the locals.

Most of our time was spent relaxing at the cabin, reading, playing games, and doing puzzles together.

The owners of the cabin asked that we get a picture of our family with the "Welcome Bear" - I love this candid I got while we were getting ready to do that. LOL

We look a little somber, but here's the best shot we got.

Merry Christmas!
