Today's July Blogging Challenge is View - what we see outside our window. So here I am (sort of) at my desk... and here are some of the views I can see out that window during the year.
This window faces northwest, so if I happen to be here in the evening hours, I can see some gorgeous sunsets.
The Catoctin mountains are straight ahead.
I can't quite see this angle from my window, but from the front porch I can look up the road a bit to the farms there. It won't be long till it looks pretty much like this:
Just think - only a few months past and it looked more like this:
There's already been several days this spring and summer when the view has looked more or less like this!
Just outside this window we have a birdbath and we usually have some kind of birdfeeders. All year long these provide interesting views. Hardy winter birds and critters...
... and in the warmer weather we see doves, cardinals, blue jays, house finches, and more. The goldfinches have finally found us too.
And when it rains, we get some interesting views as well.
My husband put together a very homemade birdfeeder earlier this year, thinking we could use up some of the surplus bird seed in it. Instead, a nesting pair decided it would make a lovely home and pantry. I haven't wanted to disturb them to take pictures since I got this one a few weeks ago, but I've been watching and those eggs must be about ready to hatch!
