How much schoolwork will actually get done this week? That's a good question. The holiday season always presents a bit of a dilemma to us, because we can take as many schooldays off as we'd like to, but we still need to get stuff done! With the past several weeks full of travel and other interruptions, we are going to do our best to focus on school this week - except for Thursday, of course!

Today, Wednesday, and Friday have the potential to be full school days, and hopefully we'll get a lot done. I know there's a good possibility that those days will be interrupted or cut short because of something holiday-related, but we're going to try. Right now, Kennady is working on History, and I am planning to hit Science and Math today as well. Tuesday will be a short day as usual, but should still have time for some school in the morning, along with gym class in the afternoon and choir rehearsal in the evening. At this point, I'm thinking we'll have time to get to all the subjects on Wednesday and Friday, but that could change. For instance, Wednesday will be a food prep day, so my attention will be divided and I may even need Kennady's help. And on Friday, there's the outside chance that we'll go shopping. In the afternoon. I do not "do" Black Friday shopping that involves early mornings or all-nighters!

Today's High School Lesson Book is also an opportunity for me to be thankful. I'm thankful for:
-the freedom and opportunity we have to homeschool
-the support of family and friends who encourage us
-enough money to buy what we need (courtesy of the hard-working hubster and his employer)
-three graduates who make us very proud
-a student that also makes us very proud
-the relationships built with our kids

And that is just a very short list! Homeschooling through high school has so many rewards I really can't list them all.

What are your plans for this week? Will it be a full week of school or Thanksgiving activities, or both? Leave a comment and let me know! Then please link your posts about homeschooling high school here - I'd love to see what you are working on! Also, please visit your neighbors and leave some encouraging comments!

We took the week off. I am getting ready to add some new classes so basically all my son needs to do this week (Mon-Weds) is read. Happy Thanksgiving!

I wish you success in getting a lot of schooling done. Our holiday weeks go up and down with what gets accomplished

We'll plan regular and full days for Mon- Wed and take the end of the weekend off once my husband is home with us.

We are trying to get some done this week, as well. Working through a unit study makes it a bit easier. - Lori
