Homeschool Highlights - Another Week on the Go! on Homeschool Coffee Break @ kympossibleblog.blogspot.com

Welcome to Homeschool Highlights!
This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.

Grab a cup of coffee and let's get started!

This has been my week - travel mugs and teenagers!

Homeschool news  . . . Nothing new, really. Since this was Week 2 of Drivers Ed and we were almost as busy as last week, I basically made it a week off school, although we did get to a few things here and there. We have a couple of reviews coming up - one that Kennady is supposed to be actively working on - so we tried to find a little time to keep up with those.

Other news . . . On Saturday, the hubster and I were able to get back to our Super Saturday plan, where we try to explore or do something interesting in our area. This time we went to Washington, D.C. and spent the day at the National Building Museum for Frank Lloyd Wright Day and then went out for barbecue at an eatery a couple blocks away. You can see lots of pictures and find out more about the museum in my post A National Building Museum PhotoJournal.

The rest of the week has been busy, rather like last week, just at a slightly slower pace!

On my blogs last week . . .

Internship for High School Credit - from Apologia (A Homeschool Coffee Break Review for the Homeschool Review Crew) on Homeschool Coffee Break @ kympossibleblog.blogspot.com

And on my book blog, Just A Second:

Recent Reads - Empty Nest: What's Next?
Wordless Wednesday - National Building Museum
Recent Reads - The Trees Will Clap
Scripture and a Snapshot - Great Commission

Just A Second is where I share book reviews and other book-related things, and update on what's on my bookshelf. This week I finished these two books, but have yet to write the reviews:

Wings of the Wind (Out From Egypt) by Connilyn Cossette
Rush Revere and the First Patriots by Rush Limbaugh (the whole series)

I started reading:

The Black Moth by Georgette Heyer
A parting shot . . . Opening our hillbilly pool for the season:

and Veronica's first time in their pool this season. Isn't she the sweetest thing?

Took me a moment, but then I figured it out - I love your hillbilly pool! Embracing the hillbilly in all of us is a great thing. Personally I prefer to drink iced tea from canning jars and our chickens' favorite laying spot is an old refrigerator drawer... well, maybe that was giving too much away :)

yep, our hillbilly pool was much cheaper than putting a new liner in the actual pool, and hey - it works! LOL

I love your hillbilly pool! Totally something that the hubby and I would do! We're building a recycled materials shed currently and we're totally being hillbilly about it. Embrace it!

You live in a pretty cool place, lots of interesting things to visit! That's a great idea for the pool.

She sure like she enjoyed her first foray into the pool. :)
