Homeschool Highlights - Springtime Edition! Week 31 on Homeschool Coffee Break @ kympossibleblog.blogspot.com

Welcome to Homeschool Highlights!
This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.

Grab a cup of coffee and let's get started!

Hmmm. It's raining again. And snow in the forecast too. So much for spring!

Homeschool news  . . . this week was another busy one, and I haven't even had a chance to grade anything since I did a quick evaluation at the end of the third quarter. I know Kennady worked on History, Writing, and French and those subjects are all in good shape. I know she worked on Algebra but I don't know how much, and that is the subject that needs the most attention. Since I haven't checked it, I worry that she hasn't worked on it as much as she should have.

Other news . . . On Friday evening, Kennady and Landon went to see the Easter production again - the same one Kennady and I saw the week previous with friends. Landon wanted to see his friends that were part of the cast, and Kennady enjoyed it so much she wanted to see it again.

On Saturday afternoon, Kennady finally had her first session with a driving instructor. She was nervous, but did great, and has been driving a lot lately, so I guess we're well on our way to adding another driver! In the evening, we went to Hershey for a Bears game. This is sort of a family Easter tradition! Often we go to the game on Easter Sunday, since the hubster's hockey league doesn't have a game that day.

Kennady and I were up early on Easter Sunday morning so we could warm up with the worship team band. Not as early as people that attend a sunrise service, but still! The service was very good, and Kennady and her friend did an especially great job with the special music.

Then the rest of the week has been a whirlwind of the usual work, choir, Civil Air Patrol, church, and co-op busy-ness! It seems like there were extra errands to run, but at least a couple of times that gave Kennady an extra opportunity to get some drive time. We had our piano tuned on Wednesday morning, and Kennady sat in on the whole thing to learn a bit about it and see if it was something she wanted to learn how to do. Jury is still out on that.

We added one very fun extra to our week - we visited the Peep Show in Westminster on Wednesday afternoon! This fun art show featuring "Marshmallow Masterpieces" is an annual event to benefit the Carroll County Arts Council.

We really liked this one - a marshmallow tribute to the band Twenty One Pilots, which is one of Kennady's favorites. (One of mine too, if I'm honest!) And it was pretty accurate!
