This has not been my favorite April. Despite all the things going on that I am not happy about, there are plenty of things to be grateful for, and we realize how lucky we are.
The view out my window one Saturday while the rest of the family was out working in the yard.
Dinner that night was smoked bacon-wrapped meatloaf. I've been experimenting with baking sourdough bread too.
We all gathered outside to use up the sparklers we found and to watch the space station fly over.
We've put the furniture back on the front porch, and all the yard cats think it's for them.
Weekend walks to visit the neighbors:
Kids all did mud masks one evening, just before masks became mandatory!
We did a birthday parade for a little boy from church.
Followed by a little drive in the country. We went by this car graveyard property.
Group video calls are becoming more normal for our family.
I've been trying to get takeout dinner from a local small business at least once a week. The most recent one was a local bakery that also sold these Corona Cookies. They are really good for reducing stress!
I want my home to be that kind of place - a place of sustenance, a place of invitation, a place of welcome. ~Mary DeMuth
