Design - it can mean to plan the form and structure of something, or to plan and fashion artistically. It can refer to making drawings, sketches, or plans; and the plans could be structural or decorative. Design can be a verb or a noun, but it always implies a careful plan, with attention to details either functional or beautiful, and often both. It's not an accident, and it's not by chance.

It's easy to see the design in nature, and in our own bodies. The intricate workings of cells and the order of the vast universe indicate a careful design. Forms and structures planned and fashioned for function and for beauty.

Which means there's a designer. A designer that could come up with all these amazing plans and carry them out. Why then, should we doubt that the Designer of the entire universe and everything in it could also have a design for how we should live?

God designed and established our world, and we should believe that as a foundational truth. God designed each one of us, and we should trust his instructions for living according to the purpose of our design. We should treat each other with respect because we are the workmanship of God. God designed us for his purpose and for his kingdom, and we should submit our own designs and plans to his wisdom and guidance.

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
~Psalm 139:13-16

From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. ~Acts 17:26-27

For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. ~ Ephesians 2:10

Great FMF post. I love and appreciate how you worded this:
"Design can be a verb or a noun, but it always implies a careful plan, with attention to details either functional or beautiful, and often both."

I can so easily see God's design in nature. The challenge is to help my lad see the same thing. :)

Everything He does is perfect! We need to remember that when we are hard on ourselves or others. Look at things through His eyes not our own. It will change your perspective.
