eating all the birthday celebration foods! We're just coming down after five days of holiday feasting - Canada Day, my daughter's birthday, and Independence Day - and there were parties and cookouts, and just lots of good food. We had things like bison burgers, smoked meat loaf, and fettucine alfredo at home, and went to a crab feast one day. (Okay, I did not eat crab or any other seafood - I am so not a fan!) And desserts included butter tarts, Nanaimo bars, cakes, and ice cream. So good!

feeling nervous and excited and a bit overwhelmed as we move forward on getting Kennady transferred into the university. There are still some unknowns we are navigating, the two really huge ones being financing and a vaccine requirement that we object to. We are praying for favour with the scholarship and grants, so that the portion of tuition that she has to finance is manageable; and we are praying that our exemption request will be granted.

going nowhere for the next little while. We'll try to go away for at least a couple long weekends in August, but July will be spent at home. Hopefully we can go on some day trip adventures on the weekends, and out some evenings. We do have plenty going on here at home!

ordering the dining room - or trying to - so that it's ready for the new doors, and then the new flooring. The contractor our son works for will be installing the new patio doors, and we've given them permission to come on short notice if they have the time in their work schedule. Once the doors are done, we can schedule the installation of the new flooring.

realizing that I will need to plan for a knee replacement surgery at some point, and it may well have to be sooner than I'd anticipated. My last visit to the orthopedist confirmed that the arthritis is quite advanced, with some bone-on-bone. She said the knee replacement was not a matter of IF I need it, but WHEN. I got a cortisone shot this time and I'm not convinced it's particularly helpful. We'll see. Part of me want to just go to surgery and get it over with, but it's definitely not that easy.

Hoping all the college stuff works itself out! Also hoping the knee replacement goes well. We have quite a few family members that have had to have that done.

We have lots of June/July birthdays in the family, so lots of birthday foods here too, and it's been delicious :) Thanks for joining in the linkup!

Good luck with the university process! And how exciting to get a a little house renovation. So far we are having the worst luck with contractors - so I hope it goes smoothly for you.

Okay, I would be all about the crab fest!!! And my dad had knee replacement surgery about twelve years ago, and while the recovery was hard, he said being in constant pain for the two years previous was way worse. I don't know if that's helpful to hear or not...

Praying all goes well with the university. I have driven past that school many times (traveling from VA to PA) and the campus is just lovely!! I hope she has a wonderful year - and that exemption is granted! That would be a tough one. Hope your knee surgery makes all the difference! I have heard they really do -

Your July holiday feasting reminds me of ours in late November with multiple birthdays and Thanksgiving. :) Always fun for me to indulge, but not so fun the next few days afterwards. lol. Praying your knee replacement surgery happens at just the right time. My arthritis has gotten worse, but yuck, I don't want to think about surgery just yet.
