This long, hot August is almost over, so here is a sampling of this month's photo record of our days.
These are the barn swallow babies in their nest on our porch.
It was time to get some projects done around the house. First, the new dining room doors were installed. Later on in the month (just this week, in fact), the new flooring was installed in the kitchen and dining room.
Hubby and I went on a short vacation trip, spending five days driving down the Blue Ridge Parkway and back.
As soon as we got back home, our family finally got around to having our Christmas in July dinner out! We'd planned it in July, but between quarantines and coordinating the schedules of seven people, we had to postpone into late August! We had a great time at Iron Age.
First day of school for Kennady was this week as she started classes at Mount St. Mary's University.
Hubby and I enjoyed our first live music concert since December 2019. I wish I could say I'd enjoyed the concert more, but it was Brit Floyd which is a tribute band playing Pink Floyd music. They were very good, but I have never liked Pink Floyd so it wasn't my favorite. It was clearly the hubster's choice to attend, and although it chapped me to pay that much money for my ticket when I didn't exactly want to be there, it was a pretty cool date night. And as I said, the musicianship and the light show were impressive so I did enjoy that aspect.
Today I began the big job of putting my dining room back together. I hadn't got very far by lunchtime.
Kennady said it looked like a first apartment for a poor student. 😂
And now I also need to kick school preparation into high gear, as it appears I'll be taking on a second teaching gig at another homeschool co-op!
