Five Minute Friday - Show

One word. Five minutes to write about it. This is the idea behind Five Minute Friday and this is today's free-writing post.

show me the money
show off
just goes to show you

"Show" means to exhibit, display, or make visible. It might be really obvious such as when someone is showing off, or it might just be apparent to those who are paying attention or have been invited to see, but it can be observed in some way.

The truth always shows eventually. The facts or reality about situations and people tend to come out and it can be seen. People can present themselves in certain ways, and some put on a pretty convincing show, and might fool a lot of folks, but eventually, the truth will come out. Their true character will show. Others will be able to see what they are really like, and whether they are posers or genuine.

When your true colors show, will your deeds line up with your words and claims? Does your life show that God is working in you?

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. ~James 3:13

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. ~Matthew 5:14-16

We must show our Christian colors if we are to be true to Jesus Christ. ~C.S. Lewis

Your wrinkles either show that you're nasty, cranky, and senile, or they show that you're always smiling. ~Carlos Santana

Here's hoping my laugh lines show more than my frown lines!

Who is wise and understanding?
Who does this suit to a tee?
Sorry, dude, 'bout the hard landing
but it sure as shootin' isn't me.
I am smart enough to open
s beer that's not just been shook,
but beyond that I am hopin'
that you won't hand me a book
with more words than it has pictures,
and request that I then read,
for facing those mean kind of strictures
is way more than I now need,
and I'll end up with a fused
brain that's been so rarely used

Indeed, what do my actions show others about Jesus.

Nice message and that photo with the little candles is so nice. We can also show God's love by listening. And by ENCOURAGING. You are doing that with our blog.

makes me think about how we need to be discerning of the shows we get in life... whether from people or the things we choose to see... where is the truth?
