Currently . . . September 8, 2022

At the beginning of each month I've been participating in the "Currently" link-up with Anne in ResidenceAnne posted a set of action verb prompts for the month and writers respond. She is currently taking a break from hosting the link-up and it is instead hosted at Overflowing With Thankfulness. So, without further ado, here are this month's prompts and what's happening currently . . .

Loving - having a grandbaby nearby to snuggle with often! Our new granddaughter is almost a month old now, and it's a delight to see her every week. We're really looking forward to having more family time this fall too. Our son who lives in Ohio will be bringing his family for Thanksgiving so we'll have the whole family together, and if all goes according to plan my parents hope to visit sometime in the next couple months too.

Beginning - co-op classes soon! I hope I'll be well prepared for the high school Literature class I'll be teaching at our homeschool co-op starting next week. I've taught the course before, but with very small groups. This year there are almost twenty students in the class so I'm adjusting my lesson plans and hoping that my plans will work once we get started!

Ending - my three times a week visits to physical therapy. It's been a little over two months since I had a knee replacement and the rehab has been going really well. With school starting, the three visits a week are just not going to work any more! I'm actually keeping my fingers crossed that they will discharge me next week, but in the meantime I've booked only twice a week visits for the rest of the month. If I could go only once a week, that would be tremendous! Last weekend I was able to do a bit of hiking (out to the beach at Calvert Cliffs) and I'm back to almost all my usual activities with a few modifications, so I feel like I've met - and exceeded! - my expectations and goals for life with a pain-free knee.

Picking - some new furniture and odds and ends for furnishing and decorating the basement rooms now that we have the new flooring installed. At least I hope I'll be picking out what I want (and is within the budget!) soon. I have a pretty good idea what I need for the room that will be an office and guest room, and sometime soon we'll need to shop for the pull-out sofa that I'll need in there. The other room will be a family room again, which means it will also need furniture - a sectional perhaps? We're still thinking on that. The other thing we'll need to do at some point is replace the ceiling tiles and lights.

Posting - a little more regularly here, now that the summer craziness is ending and my weekly schedule should be a little more predictable. At least that's the plan. I'm hoping to get back to sharing some writing tips for high school students as I teach at the co-op.

Hope you won't have much PT to go! I've had a lot of it in the past. That's great it's helping though.
