October has been packed full of activity and fun and surprises. On the first Sunday of the month, we had the annual chili cookoff fundraiser at church, and this year Spencer got third place!
Next we turned our attention to preparing for Thanksgiving - the Canadian celebration! - and so the great turkey hunt was on! I'm not sure how many stores I visited but I finally secured a whole turkey that was large enough for our party!
That was also the motivation to finally get that last little section of the wall painted in the dining room.
(I had to keep an eye on the guys as they worked.)
I was able to meet in person with an online friend as she and her family passed through our area on vacation.
October was a very special month because finally, after more than three years, my parents were able to come for a visit! We spent the last half of the month enjoying each other's company, playing games, doing puzzles, visiting over coffee and good meals, and doing a little exploring.
Landon and Meaghan had little Aubrey dedicated in church, and we got some family photos.
Sunday afternoons at Nonny's are made for naptime, and the weather was perfect for it! We actually had wonderful weather for most of the month.
A visit to Landon's place included some work cleaning up all the leaves.
And then Poppy needed a nap.
We took a short trip to Ohio to see Harrison and his family, and for my husband to interview for a job in the area.
Back home for a little more exploring here in Maryland, some precious family time, and to consider the job offer.
Boo!! We accepted the offer and will be moving!
