Our actual move-in date was at the end of November, but we counted December as our first month as Ohio residents. The gate claims tranquility within and we certainly hope our stay here will be a peaceful one.
We've made some progress getting our townhouse to look and feel like home, which included some new furniture and some decorating for the holidays.
We've been able to spend time with our oldest son and his family now that we live nearby. Watching Christmas movies, visiting the Christmas tree farm, and looking at Christmas lights are special times with our granddaughter!
I found the library and got my new library card!
Right before the Christmas weekend, we got some seriously cold weather and a bunch of snow.
But thankfully we had no travel problems going home to Maryland to spend Christmas with our family there. And of course the highlight is being with our youngest granddaughter!
Making faces with Poppy and with Nonny.
It seems the cats missed us too.
We attended Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services at our home church.

I stayed an extra week after Christmas and got to celebrate my birthday with the Maryland family as well. Birthday dinner was at Cracker Barrel, so this is how we waited for our table.
Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for a Blessed New Year!
