SchoolhouseTeachers.com

This post contains affiliate links - using affiliate links from Homeschool Coffee Break helps fuel this blog and our homeschool - thank you!

From time to time, I've mentioned and recommended SchoolhouseTeachers.com, and I'm devoting an entire post to the site today because this great resource recently got a nice update making it even easier to navigate. And because there is still one week to take advantage of special pricing that gives you even more bang for your buck. Literally, one buck. One dollar gets you a full 30-days of everything SchoolhouseTeachers.com has to offer, and if you decide to continue, it's only $5.95 per month! Access to all 100+ courses, all the parent and teacher resources, for you and as many students as you have.

Let me give you a quick sample of what you can find at SchoolhouseTeachers.com.

The site is now easier to navigate and you can search for courses by subject area, or by grade level. Here are a few highlights:

Courses by Subject
I have a student that loves art, so that's one of the first places I look. It's also first alphabetically, so that makes it easy!

Here you'll find an entire course of Art Techniques by Brenda Ellis (author of ARTistic Pursuits!) with lessons for students in Elementary grades through High School. You'll also find a Drawing with Realism course, and Daily Easels lessons.

Looking for interesting Electives? How about Introduction to Architecture, suitable for middle school or high school? I'm looking at this one for next year!  Other Elective courses include Home Economics, Photography, Logic, Wildlife Adventures, and Media Socialization - quite a variety!

In the Math section, I have been picking out some of the Daily Math worksheets to reinforce concepts. That's just one of the offerings there.

Foreign Languages can present a challenge for homeschoolers. I think I would like to study Hands-on Hebrew myself! Kennady was interested in ASL Adventure (Introduction to American Sign Language), and I have a feeling she'd also be interested in French.

Other Subjects are:
  • Computer and Technology where you'll find courses like Keyboarding, Programming, and Internet Entrepreneurship;
  • Drama and Speech;
  • History, Geography, and Social Studies offers courses such as Everyday Explorers, Renaissance History, Imperial Russia, and Mock Trial;
  • Language Arts, which covers Reading, Writing, Grammar and Literature;
  • Music, offering courses in Guitar, Music History, and Theory;
  • Nutrition, Health, and Fitness
  • Science, with courses like Astronomy, Animal Science, Botany, Biology, Physics, Geology... and more!
