As I'm writing this, I can glance out my window and see tulips coming up in the garden, the grass getting greener, and the birds enjoying the feeders. (Often there is a cat beside me watching the birds as well!) So spring is here! I'm hoping that we can make use of our renewed energy to really focus on schoolwork instead of getting distracted by spring fever, because we have a lot to do before the end of May! Not just in our regular coursework (and we're rather behind in some of that!) but we have reviews to work on and there are some other plans - school-related and otherwise - that we're working on as well.

Here are the reviews we've got going for the Homeschool Review Crew:

This week Crew members will be sharing reviews of a novel called Shepherd, Potter, Spy and the Star Namer by Peggy Consolver. I've been reading this historical novel about a young boy in Canaan during the time of the Hebrew conquest of the promised land under the leadership of Joshua.

Later in the month, I'll be sharing our review of the newest set in the Drive Thru History® series - Drive Thru History® - "The Gospels". This is something my husband is enjoying with us too! Look for the reviews during the last week of April!

I've already shared one project from another review we're working on, and there will certainly be more from ArtAchieve in the weeks ahead! We have the Entire Level III set and are working on these art lessons that include a tutorial along with some art history. These reviews will appear during the first week in May.

Also during that first week in May, Crew members will be reviewing a book from Lamplighter Publishing called The Secret Bridge by Amy Le Feuvre. I've got this beautiful book in my queue to start reading this week.

And finally, during the second week of May, watch for our review of the High School Essay Intensive from Institute for Excellence in Writing! A couple days ago I got an email letting me know that our copy has been shipped, so I'm watching for the package to arrive so we can get started. I think this will be a great way to add some content and value to our Composition credit for this year, since we haven't completed as many writing assignments as I'd like.

There are LOTS of other products Crew members are reviewing, so it's a good idea to bookmark the Homeschool Review Crew blog so you don't miss anything! The blog also features regular round-ups of articles from Crew members and Crew guest posts. This week the round-up is A Day In the Life, so we'll be sharing some insights into our typical days as homeschoolers. The week of April 17-21, Crew members will bring you the Annual 5-Day Blog Hop! This year we're each choosing our own 5-Day topic for the hop, so you'll find plenty of variety in the series. Some of the topics will be:

-Charlotte Mason Resources
-Homeschooling Children with Special Needs
-Homeschooling the Middle School Years
-Inspiring Reluctant Learners
-Homeschooling without Going Insane
-Homeschooling a High Achiever
-International Studies for Young Children

- and so much more!! Of course there are at least a couple of us that will be writing about some aspect of Homeschooling through High School. My series will be 5 Days of the Rewards of Homeschooling Teens. I hope you'll join me and my blogging buddies for this fun week of sharing homeschool encouragement and advice!

I'm also participating in Blogging Through the Alphabet hosted by A Net In Time and Hopkins Homeschool. We're almost halfway through the alphabet and it's fun and informative reading the posts each week. Some are following themes, such as Bible verses or Working and Homeschooling. I've been basing my posts on arts and architecture, and have been learning some neat stuff just in coming up with an artist, architect, building, or art movement for each week's letter!
