Welcome to Homeschool Highlights!
This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.
Grab a cup of coffee and let's get started!
Once again, a mug courtesy of my Secret Sister with some good advice - don't talk to me until I'm sufficiently caffeinated!
Homeschool news . . . I need to keep my update pretty brief this week, so let me just say that we had a decent week of homeschooling. We worked mostly on Math, Literature, History, and Art; and of course there was some Music and a Phys.Ed. class. We got started reviewing another art program - ArtAchieve - and we know that we will be receiving the High School Essay Intensive from IEW for review as well. That came as somewhat of a relief to me, because our grammar and composition studies have been too often on the backburner this year. I think ending off the year with a unit of the Essay Intensive will round things out nicely and make me feel better about that particular subject!
Other news . . . Let's see . . . we had company on Friday evening, and then on Saturday Kennady had a choir event and Landon was at a Civil Air Patrol training event all day. Sunday was busy too, as the guys spent the afternoon installing new sound system components on the platform at church. As the youngest, slimmest, and most flexible of the workers, Landon was elected to crawl under the platform and feed wires through!
something to add to the resume! |
Monday was a pretty exciting day - we finally got our new internet service installed, and it's fantastic! Fast and reliable - no outages at all this week! Woot!!
The rest of the week was more or less routine, but today is a big day because I'm headed to see my granddaughter! Kennady and I will do the road trip while the boys hold down the fort at home (and hopefully they'll behave themselves!).
Reader Favorites . . . These are a few of my most viewed posts from the past month or so. Thanks to those who visited, commented, and shared!

A parting shot . . . Glad it's not my job to figure out which cord goes where. Isn't it amazing that these boxes and bits of wire can carry music though?
