Welcome to Homeschool Highlights!
This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.
Grab a cup of coffee and let's get started!
Okay, those aren't cups of coffee, but it's straight-up awesome coffee. Death Wish Coffee tastes amazing, and it's the highest caffeine content coffee available. And there's a reason I chose to show it. Read on!

Homeschool news . . . Not a bad week, all things considered. As usual, I wish we'd accomplished more, but since Kennady hit every subject and aced a French quiz at co-op this week, there's nothing to complain about!
We're starting to take registrations for our co-op for the 2018-2019 school year. It's already that time. The list of classes we're offering is awesome, and I'm excited for the ones that Kennady plans to take, but it's a bit scary to think how close she's getting to graduation!

Other news . . . On Saturday, Kennady spent the afternoon at her chorus workshop, then we grabbed a quick dinner out and headed for our homeschool group's talent night. Kennady played ukulele and sang at the show this year, and did a fantastic job. I'm only a little biased.
Oh yeah, I mentioned that Spencer started a new job last week. Well, on his second day at work, he got rear-ended while making some deliveries. We have no luck when it comes to vehicles. Thankfully, no one hurt and he wasn't at fault. The damage doesn't seem horrible, but still. We're hoping to get the car in to the body shop for repairs next week.
In happier news, the church renovation project is all done - or at least there are only a few small details still left to look after.
What I'm Highlighting . . . my review of Magic Stix Washable Markers posted earlier this week. Not only because they are really great markers, but because there's a giveaway in that review post for a set of 24 Magic Stix for one of my readers, courtesy of The Pencil Grip, Inc.

Funny, Flop, or Fail of the Week . . . So remember the Death Wish Coffee? Okay, on Wednesday night Kennady had a friend come over and stay the night. This girl, who we'll call Anna, is in the co-op French class with Kennady and they studied together for Thursday morning's class. Who are we kidding? They may indeed have studied, but they really stayed up most of the night giggling! Since we all get an early start on Thursday mornings, that's usually a day when I brew Death Wish. As I was getting ready to leave with the girls, I asked Anna if she'd like a travel mug of coffee to take along. (I never ask Kennady - she doesn't drink coffee. We don't know why she persists in this odd behavior, but we love her anyway.) I know Anna's dad loves coffee, and Anna usually has a travel mug in French class, so I figured I'd ask. She said she would, so I poured a cup for her and off we went. We got to co-op, and the girls had to write a French quiz first thing. After they finished the quiz, Anna and Kennady were laughing again and it turned out that Anna's hand had been shaking while taking the test. Then she said maybe it was the coffee and that she didn't usually drink coffee. Oh no!!! I said, "Honey, that was Death Wish Coffee! If you don't usually drink coffee, I just loaded you up with so much caffeine! I hope your heart isn't racing or anything!?" Oh my word, what have I done?!?! She was okay, but I imagine she'll be awake for about a week!

oh my.... shaking from coffee not good! the church is coming along so well eh?
Oh man...even drinking black tea in the afternoon keeps me up at night. Don't think I could handle "Death Wish" ;)
Oh I hope your luck with vehicles changes now! The church looks great!
I am so sorry to hear that you have more car trouble! So thankful that he OK at not at fault though. I don't drink coffee either so I totally relate to your daughter and I am often given such strange looks from other moms.. In fact I have a family member who found out that I don't drink coffee or wine and she did a double take then asked "well, what DO you drink?" LOL.
Your granddaughter is adorable!
Love the photo of your granddaughter...sleeping babies are so cute.
As always, you have lots going on. Sounds like an overall good week. - Lori
I really want to try Death Wish coffee...but I am so scared about the whole too much caffeine! The other coffee in the picture, what is that all about?
The other coffee is from Death Wish as well - it's called Valhalla Java. Just a different blend. :-)
