Currently . . . June 1, 2022

Somehow I managed to completely miss this link-up in May, and it's a good thing I thought about it last night or I would have missed this one too! It's the "Currently" link-up with Anne in Residence. Anne posts five action verb prompts for the month and writers respond.

Celebrating - the end of the school year, for me and for my daughter; and now we're adjusting to a summer schedule. The co-ops where I taught wrapped up classes a couple weeks ago, but I still have some reviews to do. The homeschool group's commencement ceremony was this past Friday night and we attended that. Kennady's classes also wrapped up a couple weeks ago and she is now able to work more hours for the summer.

Giving - away the last of the homeschool books still in my collection. I've got just one small box left to pass along to new owners. I have lots of other books to sort through and rehome as well. It's hard for a book-lover to say good-bye though!

Taking - some time off this month as I prepare for knee replacement surgery and the recovery time. I started a new job recently, and I'll be able to take at least a couple of weeks off with no worries. We've already rearranged the worship team schedule at church so that I will have at least three weeks off there. I've bowed out of a few other responsibilities so that I don't have to feel pressured. Of course I do want to regain mobility as soon as possible, but I'm so glad that I don't have to feel rushed by outside obligations.

Trying - mullein tea to help me get over a chest cold quickly. A couple days ago my voice just up and disappeared, and then I developed chest congestion. Not good timing, with that surgery coming up! My friend offered to send me some of her homemade mullein tea that has helped soothe coughs and remedy illness for her family so that's what I'm drinking instead of my regular sweet tea.

Wearing - shoes in the house, and trying to get used to it! I'm not a fan, but apparently I have to wear supportive sneakers or house shoes while I'm rehabbing after surgery, and I have been advised that I should wear them anyway thanks to some foot problems that I've developed. Aging is not for the faint of heart, let me tell you. But I did splurge on cute arch support sneakers and house shoes, and treated myself to some nice dressier shoes as well.

Those are cute shoes:) If you have to wear them...they might as well be cute! Praying all goes well with your surgery. So nice you are able to step away and rearrange your schedule for awhile - and recooperate with less pressure!

I hope your surgery goes well! And that's great you know you'll have some time to just focus on getting better and not have to worry about other obligations.

I tried to leave a comment earlier - but not sure it went through. Things seemed to have changed here on blogspot?? However, I wanted to say that I hope all goes well with your surgery. It is great that you are able to step away and reorganize your schedule so you can heal without pressure. Those shoes are cute! If you have to wear them...they might as well be cute:)

With cutie shoes like those, you should be happily wearing them in the house, out of the house and all around the house!! Those are darling.
I stepped away from blogging in April and most of May, and I missed writing to the prompts of Currently and Joyce's great questions for HodgePodge. I think I will throw together a post tomorrow to respond to these verbs.
Hope the tea is helping you recover from your cold. My husband just tested positive for Covid yesterday. We have all the elixirs going on over here.
Good luck on your upcoming surgery!!
