I have come to the startling conclusion that it is high time I pack up the work from the 2005-2006 school year. This amazing revelation came to me as I started down the basement stairs yesterday and the History timeline that graces our stairwell was sagging badly - everything from about 1785 to 1850 was hanging off the wall. And that my reflex action of slapping the sagging end back on the wall in hopes that the masking tape would re-stick was no longer doing any good. LOL I figured I could take the obligatory pictures today (after re-taping!) and then remove the timeline and accompanying artwork from the stairwell. However, we have company coming tomorrow evening and I am loathe to have the stairwell stripped down to the peeling drywall in case someone goes downstairs to the family room. As they undoubtedly will. So I suppose... I will retape and leave the removal job until Saturday. Another school year gone.

What do you do with it once you take it down? Is it sad that it is coming down and a school year is done or is it exciting and you can't wait for next year to get going?
I fold it up accordian style so it fits in a portfolio, so yes, we keep them. I think the one from our first year had to go in the trash, because I rolled it up instead and it just didn't survive very long that way. I'm not even sure, I might have refolded it and kept it.
It's exciting to have that blank wall to start filling again! But I hate to take down this year's work before we have the timeline for next year ready to put up. I'll probably leave the artwork up just so it's not totally bare.
Blessings,
Kym
