Weekly Wrap-Up: In Which Things Do Not Always Go as Planned

Homeschool:  We had intended to get "back to normal" with school this past week, but that was the first thing that really didn't go as planned.  Since we were out late on Sunday night, I drove Harrison back to his apartment on Monday morning, which meant I wasn't back home to teach until mid-morning.  And then I was tired.  Okay, maybe Tuesday will be more productive.  Not so much, because Tuesday was yearbook picture day, and elections, and we ran some errands.  Let's try Wednesday... better, but I was just plain lazy so we still didn't accomplish as much as I'd hoped.  Thursday we finally had a breakthrough - mostly because I informed the kids on Wednesday night that the kitchen would 'close' at 9am on schooldays, and anyone that did not have their breakfast before that wouldn't get anything. at. all. to eat or drink until lunchtime.  Miraculously, all three kids were up and at 'em bright and early on Thursday and Friday!  Finally, the sleeping-in issue appears to be solved.

I focused more on getting all the grading and assignment lists caught up during the week, because it's the end of the first quarter and I will be doing report cards this week.  Which I should probably be working on right now...

In Other News:  I did not have choir practice on Tuesday evening (things didn't go as planned!) so I got to accompany Kennady and DH to their archery class.  I only stayed for a couple of minutes, just so I could see them in action.

Something else that didn't go quite as planned - a friend's neighbor had a kitten to give to us, but apparently momma cat had moved around enough that the kitten couldn't be located that day, so we went to another local place and got Kennady her kitten.  She had originally said she didn't really want a black one, but this little guy was the one we found for her, and he seems to be a pretty good fit.  His name is Pepper.

Biggest "didn't go as planned" issue was that I didn't get this posted on Saturday like I'd hoped!

  • Feed Your Family on $12 a Day by Rhonda Barfield

Welcome home, Pepper! Kennady looks SO excited and happy about her new kitty!

I can't stand the cuteness that is Kennady wearing arrows. The cat's not bad either. =o)

I've heard of these "normal" weeks. I've yet to experience one though.

I think the "cuteness" factor of this week made up for the "didn't go as planned" factor. ;-)

Continuing in my quest for the "normal" week...
