Physics Week Six

Last week's co-op class time was spent in building trebuchets from kits purchased from Pitsco Education.  (Earlier in the school year, member of the TOS Review Crew reviewed these catapult and trebuchet kits.  You can get more info, and read their reviews at the TOS Homeschool Crew blog.)  I learned from the experience of building the catapults in class, and decided that the trebuchet bulding process would probably go better if I held onto some of the parts and only handed those out when I was sure that that the construction had been done correctly to certain checkpoints.







Not surprisingly, the whole process went much more smoothly, and every one of the trebuchets was correctly put together by the end of class!  The adult helpers checked them and finished tying on the slings, and we will be ready to go next class.
