Homeschool Mother's Journal - In Which We Celebrate Christmas

In our homeschool... not a thing! Okay, I read aloud a couple chapters of Little Town on the Prairie last weekend in hopes that we could finish it off before the Christmas break, but we fell short.  Not to worry, we will finish that up next week.

In other news... we made our annual trip to Ontario to celebrate Festivus with my husband's family.  Not many extras this year - we were able to attend church on Sunday morning as well as for the Christmas Eve service, and we had time to visit with friends and family.  We didn't have much trouble with the weather on the drive there or back, and arrived home on Friday evening.  We exchanged some gifts with Harrison then, since he didn't go with us on the trip.  Yesterday we slept late, caught up on laundry, and thoroughly enjoyed being back for worship team practice in the evening.

Thoughts/questions I have... how much school should we plan on for next week?  I don't think we'll bother with it on Monday at all, unless it's to finish the book we were reading.  I think I'd better use Monday to take a look at assignment lists and schedules for the last little bit of this semester and see how close we are to our goals.

One of my favorite things this week... watching some favorite holiday movies.

On the bookshelf...
  • Love Amid the Ashes by Mesu Andrews
  • Libriomancer by Jim C. Hines
  • A Duke's Promise by Jamie Carey
Finished King Alfred's English, Sarai: A Novel, Veil of Pearls, Nefertiti, and Silent Night by Deanna Raybourn.

A parting shot...
