In our homeschool . . . we had a week of ups and downs, but overall I'm happy with what got done. Kennady did quite a bit of work in Geography, and also got through most of a unit in The Power in Your Hands, for a review we'll be sharing next week. She also spent time working on CTC Math for an upcoming review. Considering that she did that in a week where she also did some babysitting, wasn't home every day, and wasn't feeling well for a couple of days, that's pretty good!
We've also been listening to Beric the Briton from Heirloom Audio Productions, and that review is coming next week as well.
In other news . . . Last Saturday morning we got up early and hauled a pile of stuff to our church yard sale to see how much of it we could get rid of! We did quite well as far as getting rid of things. In the end, since I had to leave early, I gave a fair amount of what I had left to the church for them to sell if they could. And I came home with only a new-to-us bench for the front hall and a football for Landon, so I congratulated myself on reducing the amount of stuff in our house!
The boys that Kennady is watching were able to stay at their grandmother's a couple days during the week, and unfortunately were not feeling well at the end of the week, so we had a little more freedom during the days. However, it didn't mean we got much more done, because Kennady was feeling a bit under the weather a couple of days as well. I was able to meet a friend for lunch one day, and meet with some homeschool moms for (iced) coffee one evening, and we got a little extra shopping done.
On Wednesday evening the youth hosted another ice cream party in town, and afterwards Kennady and Landon came back to the church with me for worship team practice. Kennady will be playing her new ukulele for most of the songs this week!
(These are her Instagram photos of the ukulele that I featured on the Virtual Fridge this week)
Yesterday I went to a Girls Night Out party in the evening, and the hubster's summer hockey tournament started. Landon and Kennady are both scorekeepers for the league so all three of them are busy with that all weekend. In fact, I need to leave in a few minutes to go catch a little bit of a game and check out what's available in this year's charity auction and raffle.

I recommend . . . visiting the Schoolhouse Review Crew blog to keep up with all the reviews Crew members are working on, and lots of helpful articles and round-ups for homeschoolers. Not that long ago, we did a Field Trip Inspiration round-up that provided me with some great trip ideas in different parts of the country. And out of the country too!

I will be linking up at the Weekly Wrap-Up hosted by Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers, and at Christian Fellowship Weekend hosted by Biblical Womanhood.
The Homeschool Mother's Journal hosted by NextGenHomeschool is on hiatus until August.
"My Week in Review" hosted by Lisa at Home to 4 Kiddos is also on a break, because her family's home was severely damaged in a fire several weeks ago. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. Information on how you can help them if you feel so led can be found here on her blog: Blessing for the Boyle Family.

Yeah for church yard sales. A local church hosts a huge one each year as a fundraiser and I'm always so happy to donate our outgrown toys and books. That way I get the clutter out of my house while knowing it will be used and helping out a good cause.
