Welcome to Homeschool Highlights!
This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.
Grab a cup of coffee and let's get started!
This is going to be one of the quickest Homeschool Highlight posts I've ever done! It's late in the day and I didn't get this ready, I've had a crazy day at work and I need to get home for dinner. So when I say highlights, I really mean JUST the highest of the highlights!
Homeschool news . . . Kennady got a lot of schoolwork done, as it was a heavy reading week in History, and she had plenty of French homework and a speech to prepare. So it was probably a good thing that it was a light week for homework in Creative Writing. That's about all I can tell you in the short time I have. Here's the art piece she did to illustrate the 19th Amendment for History class though:
Other news . . . Last weekend Kennady helped at the chili cook-off fundraiser for the youth at church. They raised a good amount and a good portion of her way to the winter retreat should be covered as a result.
The rest of the week was just busy. On Wednesday morning I drove to Baltimore to pick up my parents who are visiting for a couple of weeks, and that's been the story of the remainder of the week! By the time I get home today, my son and daughter-in-law and granddaughter should be there waiting. And waiting for dinner, likely. Hopefully they won't eat without me!

Just A Second is where I share book reviews and other book-related things, and update on what's on my bookshelf. This week I've been reading:
Shelter of the Most High (Cities of Refuge) by Connilynn Cossette
Disruptive Witness: Speaking Truth in a Distracted Age by Alan Noble
A parting shot . . .
Hopefully I'll have more time to share next week and catch up the things I missed today!
