Welcome to Homeschool Highlights!
This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.
Homeschool news . . . Remember last week's speech, and how Kennady didn't get a handout ready to go with it like she was supposed to? Well, she knocked it out of the park anyway, apparently, and got 100% on it! And that kind of made up for the fact that she turned her History paper in late (to me!).
In co-op yesterday, I took my History students' suggestion and came up with a Jeopardy! game set-up to review the Unit they'd just studied. It was a lot of fun so I think I'll try to come up with creative ways to review more often.
But anyway, even though school has been happening, it's been such a busy week that I'm having trouble remembering exactly what we did or when we fit it into our schedule. We are going to need the Christmas break to regroup!

Other news . . . Saturday was, of course, the first day of December, and I took Kennady over to the church so she could help do some decorating in the morning.
It also happened to be the day of the Big Band Merry Christmas concert. Kennady's choral group was guest performer in the concert again this year, and I managed to talk the hubster into going with me, so it was like a real date! And I was right - he did enjoy the music, and was glad he went. By the way, it also counted as a Year of Music goal met:

Kennady still had choir rehearsal this week, but my choir is finished for the season, so I did have some time to myself at Starbucks that evening. On Wednesday night, we were at church as usual, but instead of the kids going to youth group and me going to a small group study, we all watched the kids Christmas play.
Even though we weren't out every night of the week, it still felt very busy. I think it's partly because I'm working the extra half day each week. I'm only at work for a couple of hours in the morning, but essentially the whole day is shot as far as doing anything else productive. By the time I get home I really don't feel much like grading papers or doing any housework!

Such a beautiful tree! I can remember playing Jeopardy a few times in the classroom when I was a kid and it was always such a fun way to review facts.
Looks like a fabulous first week of December!
We love playing jeopardy, and have a Christmas version we created that we like to play with friends this year. I'm eyeing your categories for inspiration
