Welcome to Homeschool Highlights!
This weekly link-up is your opportunity to share some highlights of what is happening in your homeschool and in your world each week. If you write a wrap-up post at the end of each week, like I've been doing, we'd love to see what you're busy with from week to week. If you'd like to pick a favorite post from your week that spotlights a resource or activity in your homeschool that you'd like to tell others about, we're interested in those too. I'm keeping the guidelines as simple as I can, and they will appear at the bottom of each post, along with the link tool. I look forward to getting to know you, and I hope this will be a source of encouragement and good ideas for all of us.
If you would be interested in taking over this link-up, please let me know! I've loved hosting you, but because my youngest has graduated and my schedule is changing, I would love to pass the baton to someone else.

This week's news . . . On Friday night I went with Kennady to a jazz concert at the college. It was very good, and something quite different from what we usually listen to. She has to do at least four concert reports this semester, so we keep our eyes and ears open for these opportunities, especially since we have other plans on evenings when there are other free concerts at the college.
Saturday was a pretty relaxed day overall. Landon and Meaghan wanted to make dinner for all of us, so Kennady and I went grocery shopping and made sure they had everything they needed for their menu. They did a great job! What a treat for me to have a night off!
On Sunday evening Kennady attended a Boy Scout ceremony for a friend receiving Eagle Scout honors. She wasn't comfortable driving to an unfamiliar place by herself so I gave her a ride, spent a glorious hour by myself at a nearby Starbucks, and then picked her up after the ceremony. Turned out to be a nice evening for both of us!
It was a busy week at work and school, as usual. Kennady had to scramble with a couple of assignments but got everything done. At her Rock Ensemble session, she was the only guitarist this week and earned praise from the instructor for handling it so well. My co-op classes are going well, and I especially enjoy my Literature class. It's fun talking and learning together with the students in that class, and a good way to chill after the harder work of teaching the Writing class. We wrapped up our study of Pudd'nhead Wilson this week and got started on War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells. None of us read much science fiction so it should be interesting.
What I'm Highlighting . . . You might remember a novel I reviewed for the Homeschool Review Crew several weeks ago - Britfield & the Lost Crown by C.R. Stewart. (See my review here: Britfield & the Lost Crown (A Homeschool Coffee Break Book Review) and all the Crew reviews are linked here: Britfield & the Lost Crown {Reviews}) The Britfield creative team has passed on news that there is a Goodreads giveaway of the book. Visit the Goodreads page to enter, or find out more on their Facebook page.
