One word. Five minutes to write about it. This is the idea behind Five Minute Friday and this is today's free-writing post.
just another day
********************
That's what it all feels like. Another day, same as the day before. Monotony. I don't know what day it is half the time because they all feel the same. I'm tired, bored, lonely, stressed, frustrated, impotent, exhausted, on edge. and I'm one of the 'lucky' ones.
When does it end? When will there be a day that is NOT just another repeat of the day before? Sometimes it seems like the only difference is when the state issues an even stricter order. Another order that restricts everyone further, makes it harder to stay in business and stay sane. This is not how it's supposed to be, is it? In the land of the free? In a country where our constitution protects our rights?
No this isn't how it's supposed to be. But it's how it is. And today is another day that we accept what IS, be glad for today, and look forward in hope to what will be. We pray for the strength and patience to get through another day, and for the wisdom to know what to do with it. Whatever nonsense and struggle is happening, each day is another opportunity to make a difference. It's another opportunity for those who still need it to find hope in Christ.
********************
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called "Today," so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. ~Hebrews 3:13

Hang in there, friend. I'm struggling with a lot of the same issues. Yesterday, I put on jeans and did my hair because I felt it was important for my mental health. Haha. A couple days ago I pulled out all my old CDs and just put one in after another. Yes, we have certain limitations, but we also have so much freedom in our soul. No one can stop us from cranking up the radio and having a dance party in our livingrooms (well, maybe neighbors if you live in an apartment, but you get the idea). Choose to shape your day the way YOU want it to be. Or more importantly, choose to shape your day the way God wants it to be.
I so relate to this--especially losing track of what day it is. But this too shall pass.
It's not how it's supposed to be,
I am not here for this!
This crap is not my cup of tea;
can I give it all a miss?
C'mon, God, are You listening?
C'mon, God, do you hear?
Wait...is Your eye glistening
with a holy tear?
So it's really really true,
that which I dared not suppose,
that Your weeping presaged skies of blue
that followed on rainbows,
and that when Your Son went to die,
You showed the world that real men cry.
Trying to encourage others...as I encourage myself with the monotony. Enjoyed your post!
I'm so glad you are doing five minute Friday as well Kym! Good reminder to see each new day as an opportunity.
