Have you voted? I have and now I'm continuing to pray for the outcome and for peace and calm to prevail whatever that outcome is. Over the past couple of days I put together another little collection of reading that I hope you'll find interesting and uplifting.

Some of the things around the web that I've been reading or exploring during recent coffee breaks:
  • The little snippets of history found on Atlas Obscura and other such sites fascinate me. Here's one about The Tomb of Maid Marian and some true story behind the literary character.
  • Are you tired of the mask mandates? I sure am. I believe that we should be allowed to choose for ourselves whether masks are appropriate or not. Many people will still wear them, and that's fine. I just don't think it's the government's place to compel us to wear them against our will. Is It Time for Full-Time Mask Mandates? from the Mercola site sums it up for me.
  • A couple of years ago, I was a contributor to the Heart and Soul Homeschooling blog. I didn't keep up when my homeschooling years were coming to an end, and the site went through some changes around that time as well. But surprise! One of my articles was recently republished! You can read it here: Homeschool Organization Ideas for the Artful Stacker. I'm one of those homeschoolers that isn't naturally organized, so I had to come up with an organizational style that worked for me. Hope some of those tips are helpful to you!
  • When I came across this article about composer and self-described choir geek Eric Whitacre, it led me down a delightful rabbit trail of listening to his choral music on YouTube. Even if you're not a choir geek, The Miraculous Virtual Choir of the Pandemic is worth a read, and the ethereal music is worth listening to. I've sung some Eric Whitacre with the choir I was in pre-pandemic and it is just gorgeous music.

Some fun things I've found during coffee breaks:
  • This is so wholesome and fun! Josh Sundquist is a motivational speaker, author, and comedian who lost his leg to a childhood bone cancer. His annual Halloween costume is always creative!

Hope you had a great Halloween!

What I've been reading during longer coffee breaks:

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
The Last Book in the Universe by Rodman Philbrick
The Calm I Seek by Christina Lourens
A Stroke of Malice by Anna Lee Huber
The Gold Digger by Liz Tolsma
