anything is possible
it's possible, but is it plausible

Remember the TV show KimPossible? My daughter and I loved that show. My daughter was a little girl when it came out so it made sense that she liked it. I was a grown woman - a mom - excited to watch a cartoon with my kids. Wow. I was entertained by it, just as the kids were, because it was clever and humorous. I also appreciated some of the more subtle qualities that I thought were positive - it was an intact and healthy family, with a mom and a dad that were together, involved with their kids, and weren't portrayed negatively at all. Kim could get annoyed and impatient with her little brothers, and they could be mischievous and even bratty, but they clearly loved each other and respected their parents. Kim was a good student and a good loyal friend, but not perfect. She started out as an entrepreneur, playing upon her last name with the slogan 'I can do anything', and wound up as a heroic crimefighter, because she had the help of loyal and supportive friends and family, and she had a positive can-do attitude.

Since I shared a first name with her, I adopted her last name as my nickname in a lot of my online interactions. (You might have noticed my blog address is kympossible!) Even then, I was certainly too old to have a cartoon teenager as a role model, but the name worked and I liked all those positive aspects of the character and show! It was fun and memorable! And I used that name as a reminder to myself that ordinary people can do extraordinary things when they are surrounded by positive people and have faith and optimism.

And most importantly, for ME it was the reminder that things I can't do on my own are possible when I trust in Christ.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
~Philippians 4:13~

Who would have expected that a cartoon character would be a reminder that God is my strength? I guess anything is possible!

I'm right there with you. I can't tell you how many times I tried to convince my kids they still wanted to watch cartoons after they had aged past them.
