I love October with its cooler weather and beautiful fall colors. We had plenty of foggy mornings as well, which I also love. Unless I'm driving in the fog, of course. The leaves didn't really get colorful until later in the month.

One month after the flooding in our basement, we finally felt that our house was returning to normal. A new normal, however, as Landon and Meaghan moved to their own home at the beginning of October. So a little rearranging of bedrooms got us to the point of having at least the living room, dining room, and kitchen presentable for company again!

We were able to having a houseful of guests to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving with us in the middle of the month. And a couple of weeks after moving Landon and Meaghan into their house, we celebrated that with a housewarming.

At our place, the basement renovation continued as we had new drywall put up. Lots more work to do!

The shenanigans of the Minion with a Low Opinion continued throughout the month.

The last week of October was packed full of activity. We had Trunk or Treat at church.

Here's Kennady and Dan with their Hotel Transylvania themed trunk:

And Landon and Meaghan with a beach theme trunk:

I didn't do a trunk, but went in costume - as Cruella DeVille:

The next day, on my way to co-op, the brakes failed on the car - pretty scary! - but thankfully all was well, except that the car needed towed. And obviously needed repairs! Needless to say, we didn't get away on our vacation that evening as planned. A whole list of things went wrong on Friday with getting the repairs done, and in the end we rented a car and drove all night to get to our friends' place in time for the only scheduled event of the vacation.

That event was the Wings Over North Georgia airshow on Saturday. Despite clouds and drizzle, the show did take place and was very enjoyable. The Blue Angels couldn't do their full performance but we did get to see them fly.

We were visiting good friends who had relocated to Georgia from Maryland. They were marvelous hosts!

We finished the month with Reformation Sunday and Halloween. Our hosts' neighborhood had a very fun Trick or Treat night. I walked with my friend and her daughter and family (their awesome family costumes - Gandalf and company!) on the candy gathering quest, and we ended the evening sitting around the firebowl.
