Seems like it should be pretty easy to think of Something Loved, Something Read, Something Treasured and Something Ahead right now, since we've just wrapped up Thanksgiving and are headed into the Advent and Christmas season! Perhaps the hardest part will be narrowing a couple of these categories down. I have family visiting this weekend too, so my time is short. Let's see how quickly I can finish this summary!

Something Loved

Music, especially live music! At the beginning of the month, it was wonderful to attend my daughter's first recital at her university. It was the first student recital given before an in-person audience at the school in well over a year. This past week we attended a concert at the school's chapel, at which our daughter's chorus performed several numbers. Of course we've been enjoying worship music at church for a long time and I don't think I'll ever take that for granted again after being limited for part of last year! I don't think I ever really did, but still.

Concerts are coming back too, and I'm looking forward to a few upcoming. I'm hoping to be able to go to the TomlinUNITED tour when it's in my area. What better way to get to live music than with a worship concert?! I was grateful to be able to participate in the announcement of this tour, and a giveaway of free music downloads.

Something Read

I completed three books in November. You can see more about my reading in my Monthly Bookshelf Review for November 2021 on Just A Second, which should be live in a couple of days.

Finished and reviewed:

Behind Love's Wall by Carrie Fancett Pagels

Currently Reading:

As Death Draws Near by Anna Lee Huber
A Corner of White by Jaclyn Moriarty
The Debutante's Code by Erica Vetsch
The Last Book in the Universe by Rodman Philbrick

Something Treasured

How can I say anything other than family? I know I say it often, and it's the "easy" answer, but on a weekend when we've just celebrated Thanksgiving as a family, it seems fitting to mention it despite the cliche. We treasure our close family ties. We treasure our children and the fact that they have warm relationships with us. We treasure our darling granddaughter and her energy! We treasure the fun and laughter we enjoy together. Most of all, we treasure the relationship that each family member has with the Lord, and that each one is growing in him.

Something Ahead

Like so many people, we are making plans for Christmas, and hoping to get the whole family together again then. We will probably travel to be with our son and his family right after Christmas. Before that though, we have the entire Advent season ahead of us, with decorating and shopping and baking . . . and so much more!

We are also plugging away at the redo of our basement. The new drywall is done and sanded, so we'll be priming and painting next. Looks like it's the kind of project that we'll chip away a little at a time, as we have funds and can make decisions. I bet pieces of this project will keep appearing as "something ahead" for many months to come!

Behind Love's Wall is to be read very soon, and The Debutante's Code is my next read :) Glad you enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday. Family might be an easy answer but it is great to treasure the time you have with your family.

I am stopping by from Heather's linkz party. I am looking forward to live music as well. I'm attending our first Christmas event a week from tonight at my church- it's a jazz concert called Jingle Jam. I invited my parents and my in-laws to join me! It should be a fun night and it's the best way to kick off the season. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving with your loved ones!

I love live music too, Kym. My husband and I saw Lauren Daigle and Ellie Holcomb in concert in September ... it was wonderful! Good luck on the basement remodel ... getting to the painting stage sound like good progress to me!
