In our homeschool... On Monday our schoolwork included a history lesson on the Reagan years in America, and Kennady worked on art lessons. Tuesday we focused mostly on Science, although Kennady did her own thing. Wednesday and Friday were both very busy days and I had errands to run, so I left the kids to work on whatever they had at home. On Thursday we managed to get through another history lesson, this one about the Reagan Presidential Library and Museum. We finished the week having done less history than I'd planned, but otherwise I was pleased.
In other news... Kennady is playing softball a couple nights each week now. The weather has been warming up so it's actually pleasant to go to the games - not that I'd know much about that, since I've been busy most of her game nights so far! Her game was rained out on Wednesday so she was able to come to church for a little bit. On Friday night we had a fun talent night at church - Kennady sang a solo, and Harrison was one of the emcees.
One of my favorite things this week... Kennady reading from her history lapbook that she's working on, and converting it to a dialogue between LarryBoy and Archie. Hilarious!
A photo/video/quote or link to share... This website has been around for a long time, but I reconnected with it this week. We decided to start keeping a list of the birds we spot in and near our yard, and we can do it online at eNature.com. I like the ease of use, and that the field guides are searchable and include a recording of the bird calls. (We kept playing the Song Sparrow call over and over to torment the cat further. LOL And Saucy Sparrow kept flying past the window as if he was trying to figure out whether he had competition inside the house!)
On the bookshelf...
- The Map Across Time by C.S. Lakin
- Patrick - Son of Ireland by Stephen R Lawhead
Finished Darcy Goes to War by Mary Lydon Simonsen.
