Random 5 on Friday on the 4th!

The Pebble Pond

This week's wrap-up is another Random 5 on Friday (a link hosted at The Pebble Pond) style post!
  1. School went on the backburner this week as we celebrated Canada Day, Kennady's birthday, and Independence Day. Kennady's birthday was a milestone, as it's the one that allows her to drink coffee! That's her taking the ceremonial first sip of her inaugural cup in the picture above!
  2.  The boys had a great time at Creation last week. I still need to listen to the "radio show" that my oldest and friend did at the group's campsite. The "Eric and Harrison in the Morning" radio show has become part of the entire Creation experience for our church youth group!
  3. We tried smoking a root beer can chicken for dinner tonight and it was good!
  4. Still reading the same four books: Sinner's Creed by Scott Stapp; The Shadow Lamp by Stephen R Lawhead; Loyal in Love by Jean Plaidy; and Flourish by Mary Jo Tate. Plus I just started a new one I got from the library - A Grave Matter by Anna Lee Huber.
  5. Hope everyone is enjoying the Independence Day weekend! We're about to leave to see some fireworks!
On my blog this week...

I recommend... visiting the Schoolhouse Review Crew blog to check out the Philosophy Adventure giveaway, and this week's round-up - Homeschool for Free.

For the Display of His Splendor
I'm planning on linking to the Random 5 on Friday at The Pebble PondManaging Your Blessings and For the Display of His Splendor, if they don't take the long weekend off! And I wouldn't blame them if they did. :-)
